Hillsong’s welfare arm, Emerge, will become the biggest non-government provider of services to unemployed people in NSW under a new Federal Government program.
And it seems some are just a little bit uneasy about government outsourcing to evangelicals. I’m just wondering how they square all this with their prosperity theology. Have to ask my brother-in-law next time we catch up I suppose. To their credit Hillsong does seem seemed to have softened their prosperity stance since the ‘You Need More Money Days’. I’m feeling I’ll wait and see.
