This week Mark Falson and I organised for Nathan Dirs, Morling College's evangelist intern for this year, to come and speak to the church on personal evangelism, the why's and the how's. Nathan made the excellent point that witnessing is far more about "being" an ambassador for Christ than "doing" anything in particular and illustrated this with a story of Reg, a mentor of his that died recently. As this ninety year man old lay dying, wracked with pain, struggling even to breathe, the nurses would ask him, "How you doing Reg?" and he would invariably reply, with all the strength that he had left, "Still rejoicing!" That's an ambassador! That's what being is about.
