So, what do you think of oobible.com?

For those who haven’t seen it yet, oobible.com is being hailed as a digital Bible for the Facebook generation. Think BibleGateway redesigned for a social media world with interactive options and a simple Google-like style (and no Protestant beige or Missionary brown anywhere thank God). I’ve been testing it on the laptop and the Kindle and I think it has potential. My only gripe is that they don’t have NIV on board yet. If you join though make sure you friend me so we can share.

oooo, Matt. I was just saying to a friend today that we are living in times of great flux, of an imminently revolutionary nature; that 500 years ago was the time of the Reformation which was greatly aided by the Printing Press; people were persecuted, martyred and murdered because of their adoption of the new ways of thinking and practice which caused incredible tidal waves of change to inundate the religious status quo of those times; so we are well due for a similar watershed experience in contemporary times. The “old” has to go because it simply can’t be sustained anymore. The new patch on the old garment causes tearing; the new wine in the old wineskins causes leakage; shifting of paradigmatic techtonic plates causes idealogical earthquakes and releases orthopraxmatic volcanic eruptions.
Maybe oobible will cause those kinds of waves and rumbles amongst the techno-savvy and beyond? I don’t know. But in a way, I hope so!
