  1. This article from Christian History Magazine highlights some features of Viking Christianity, including political/economic enmeshment, veneration of saints, and a “power encounter” to boot!
This really was a great find—the entire issue of Christian History #63 is “A Severe Salvation: how the Vikings took up the faith”. The whole lot is in PDF right here!

  2. The History Channel had a documentary on the Viking ancestral connections with the Normans who felt that they had a “civilising” effect on Anglo-Saxon England in the 11th century. The Viking butchery of Celtic monasteries in ealier centuries is in memory for some of my friends on Holy Island (Lindisfarne) and beyond.
I have asked a girlfriend of mine in Norway if she can comment or provide any resources on this interesting subject…

  3. Love the title of your blog!
I came to your blog from the church relevant site top 200 list. They have created a tremendous forum for finding new blogs that impact people.
I hope my blog can be an encouragement to you also.
I write it for encouragement and motivation daily.
Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to watching the connections grow!
