How to disagree agreably

In his book, “Against Calvinism: Rescuing God’s Reputation from Radical Reformed Theology,” Roger Olsen makes a confession that I think we could all benefit from. He says:

My motto is “Before saying ‘I disagree’ be sure you can say ‘I understand.’”
