Precognitive Dreaming

How many of you have ever experienced precognitive dreams I wonder?

This evening I came home from the youth group and slumped next to my wife as she was watching Medium on the television. The episode she was watching revolved around a precognitive dream experienced by both the mother – Allison DuBois – and daughter in the show. Ho hum I thought.

Out of curiosity I asked my wife if that had ever happened to her. Had she had ever dreamed of the future – dreamed of events that later came true? Not big things – just small things. She had not and was quite puzzled by my question. Our respective backgrounds came into stark contrast.

It was her puzzlement that left footed me. You see this was a commonly reported experience amongst many of my childhood friends. I’d experienced it myself on a few occasions when I was very young. So while I expected it may not have happened to her, what I did not expect a was confused stare. I got to wondering: are some urban tribes most suseptible to this sort of experience than others? What do other people recon?

I’ve had dreams that come true…mostly small things. On rare occasions I’ve had prophetic dreams, or visions. Where I grew up in the Western region of Africa (among missionaries and other very spiritual people) these sort of things were not uncommon.

    Hello Matt,
Thanks for the check in. For the most part I’m enjoying my sabatical from the blogosphere. But for your question, I have had little precog dreams throughout my life. Small things like dreaming of a person that I haven’t seen in years, and then within a day or two, having a chance encounter with that same person. Most of the time my dreams are too bizarre for me to interpret until the event occurs and then I get an ‘aha’ moment and am able to connect it to the dream.
