Last night I sat down to wine, dine and converse with a very jet lagged Tony Jones.
Tony Jones, author of The New Christians and national coordinator of US based Emergent Village is currently touring eastern Australia, to speak at the upcoming Black Stump Festival and to catch up with the conversation down under. Yesterday was day one.
Fuzz Kitto cooked up a storm, as usual, for the sixteen of us who made it to the Converse gathering in Chatswood, and I enjoyed catching up with familiar faces and make new friends.
It was good to hear from Tony face to face, who spoke on postmodernity from a personal perspective and on friendship as the “premier value” of the Emergent Village network. It left me, I think, with a better understanding of where Tony is coming from, journey wise.
You can catch Tony Jones’ perspective on Sydney from here, on Brisbane from here and I expect Duncan MacLeod will be blogging on the Brisbane leg of the tour if you want an alternative Aussie perspective.
