    “The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many” (Mark 10:45)
    We could paraphrase:
    Jesus did not come to be a consumer, but to contribute all that he had for the benefit of others.
    If Christianity is a movement of people who have dedicated themselves to following Jesus the Christ, then consumer Christianity must be a contradiction in terms – it is in Paul’s words, “some other gospel.”
    As Christians we either follow Jesus’explicit example, or by calling ourselves Christian we take his name in vain.
