Mysteries, Not Mistakes

The task of theology is not to explain away the paradoxes of scripture but to preserve them in their proper tension. God is three, yet one. Jesus was crucified, yet crowned. The last shall be first and the first shall be last.

These tensions aren’t mistakes to be corrected—they’re mysteries to be entered. They ask something of us. They invite us to stay present, to resist the urge for easy resolution, and to trust that mystery is not the absence of truth, but often the doorway into it.

Some things are meant to be held, not solved.
