God’s Whisper in the Waves

Yes, I’m back in Sydney and back online.

I had a wonderful experience one night on the North Haven breakwall that I simply must tell you about.

I was getting all stressed with the kids and went for a long walk after sunset along the wall (it is verrrry long and perfect for this sort of thing) and I found myself sitting alone in dark stormy skys under a bright moon surrounded by crashing waves and rushing wind. It was all so elemental, conjuring up Genesis 1 where the living Creator calls creation into existance with a word, his breath stirrings the waters to life.

Anyway, I sat on a rock at the end of the wall with seas surrounding me on all sides, occasionally catching some gentle spray from the pounding waves. I can still here them now. And I just felt the world alive with the Spirit of God. I later went and sat on the beach for a while and prayed, casting myself down before God and letting him reform me with his breath. I came back so invigorated.
