Reflections on culture, nature, and spirituality from a Christian perspective

Killer post here from Monastic Musings entitled, “Whoops! Corrections to the Translation of the Gospel of Judas,” with links to a New York Times expose on scholarly errors in translating the Gospel according to Judas. What can I say?! Can we acknowledge the search for an alternate Jesus has descended into a complete farse now?

Not sure I understand the context of your last question. I assume that in your eyes it’s a rhetorical question.
National Geographic was more than a wee bit silly in jumping on the bandwagon (to make sales money, I’m sure)… I don’t see how that connects to – or discredits – the scholarly attempt to understand how we got to the stories we tell ourselves.

    Definitely rhetorical 🙂
The over-exuberance of the National Geographic scholars has taken the farce to new levels, but it is hardly an isolated incident.
