Reflections on culture, nature, and spirituality from a Christian perspective

Jesus Mosaic

The Sydney Anglicans have made an interesting announcement about an archaeological find in Meggido, in central Israel, “that cements historical evidence early Christians worshiped Jesus as divine.”

Its a mosaic, from a prayer hall, featuring an inscription that mentions the “God Jesus”, dated from before Constantine and the Council of Nicaea.

“The inscriptions cast more doubt on claims made by prominent atheists and popular authors that Jesus’ divinity was an invention by the fourth century church.”

Apparently it will be featured in an upcoming production, called The Life of Jesus, which is to be hosted by John Dickson in April 2009.

Yeah, well, I wasn’t going to quibble about that as I think they’re aiming this at DaVinci Code fans.
