I sometimes hear people suggest that the Trinity isn’t biblical because the word doesn’t appear in Scripture. The word “Trinity” is not mentioned in the Bible. This is true. But the divinity of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is, as is the oneness of God revealed in them. This tension in Scripture sets up the question that the doctrine of the Trinity answers: in what way is God one?
