Reflections on culture, nature, and spirituality from a Christian perspective

Worship Without Artificiality

I don’t know about you, but I find worship so much more meaningful when it’s stripped of all the artificial enhancements. No sound systems. No electric lights. Just the simplicity of being outdoors, under the open sky, with my bare feet touching the earth. There’s something about worshiping God in a natural setting that feels more grounded, more authentic.

It may sound strange to worship God this way, in this day and age. But when I reflect on the story of Jesus, this is often how he and his earliest followers connected with God—praising, praying, and teaching as they walked across fields, climbed mountains, and sailed on lakes. For them, worship was woven into the landscape of everyday life. It wasn’t strange to them. And I think, in many ways, it brings us closer to something deeply true about how we’re meant to experience God.
