Reflections on culture, nature, and spirituality from a Christian perspective

I started my new job this week, which is why I’ve been a bit slow on posting. My mind has been elsewhere. There’s a lot happening in other areas of my life, too. Tonight, I led a discussion with the youth on stress, where I introduced them to Christian meditation techniques to help them as they prepare for exams. It seemed to go well.

Tomorrow night, I plan to catch up with some Pagan friends at the Joseph Campbell study group on mythology; I believe the topic this month is Fight Club, which is one of my favorite films. On Friday, I’ll be attending a dinner with Alan Hirsch, which should be intriguing.

Saturday, we’re hosting a neighborhood Christmas gathering at our home, featuring an interfaith mix of Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs, Coptic Orthodox, Sydney Anglicans, Baptists, Catholics, and more. Last year’s event was fantastic, and we hope this one will be just as successful.

That’s my update for now. As you can see, there’s a lot going on— and that’s just my offline activities! See you soon.
