Came across the animated trailer for Hell Boy II via Jason at Wild Hunt Blog and found more trailers here. The film is directed and co-written by “Pan’s Labyrinth” director Guillermo del Toro. That alone makes it a must see for me. But I am very interested in seeing how they mesh the hell and elven mythologies together.
I’m with you on Guillermo del Toro. He is one of the most fascinating people around, and by every single account, one of the most kind and relational. If you haven’t checked out all the commentaries and special features on Hellboy 1 three-disc edition, now is the time to do so. (Would loan you mine, Matt, but wrong region …)His perspectives on indigenous-to-him magical realism, plus the roles of mythologies and spiritualities, are amazing and stimulating!
