The Third Choise: Islam, Dhimmitude and Freedom by Mark Durie ($9.99)

Radical: Taking Back Your Faith from the American Dream by David Platt ($9.68)

I hate to think what that would have cost shopping the old way.

Huffington Post religion section has a story on 25 Christian classics you must read ( or something along those lines) at the moment. Spent a productive half hour today kindling 10 or so of them at .99c each. May never read them ( not exactly light reading ) but I sure feel smarter.

How useful is a kindle in terms of writing essays, articles etc? Can you copy and paste bits of text for citing, bibliographies etc?
Certainly the prices seem very attractive for these books compared to the paper versions.

Interesting you should ask Andrew. I’ve just been testing it out over the last week. Verdict: AWESOME.
Kindle has a highlight feature that allows you to bookmark bits of text as you’re reading it or add comments. From that it creates a clippings file which references the source text, the date you highlighted it and, depending how the book is formatted, the page location also. While I was on holidays, lounging on the back of the boat, I highlighted quite a bit. On my return I decided to see how easy it was to export it. Simple as cutting and pasting. Retyping quotes by hand becomes a thing of the past.

Kindle is the Amazon brand ebook reader. Amazon have just restructured their pricing with the introduction of the Kindle Fire so the model I have is now $139. Cheapest model is $79 and the Fire is $199. Not as familiar with other ebook readers but the advantage I see with Kindle is the high Amazon integration. I manage my books with a free program called Calibre which can convert between various file types.

Am reading McLaren, Brian. (2011). Naked Spirituality: A Life with God in twelve simple words. Hodder & Stoughton, London.
Its a book you may find worthwhile to do a search on through Amazon to find the Kindle price because the subject matter would probably relate to your current studies Matt.
It cost about $21 at Koorong. So would be interesting to compare the Kindle price.
