Unity does not require uniformity

In his letter to the Romans the apostle Paul declares “One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind. Whoever regards one day as special does so to the Lord. Whoever eats meat does so to the Lord, for they give thanks to God; and whoever abstains does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God.” What I find interesting here is his clear acceptance of diversity of practice within the church, provided that God and Jesus are our focus. I wonder how much less denominationalism there would have been if more Christians had taken this teaching seriously. Unity does not require uniformity folks.
