Reflections on culture, nature, and spirituality from a Christian perspective

Family Baptism

My wife was baptized today. The story behind this story is a long one, for Donna has been a Christian much longer than me, but the hour is late so let me just get on with describing the baptism itself.

Some friends of ours, Steve and Steph, have a house that backs onto Lake Macquarie at Gwandalan. We’ve known them for years, from when Steve was associate pastor at Pendle Hill Baptist Church, where we still attend, so when Donna decided to take the plunge, after much reflection, doing it out in the open with them was an obvious choice for us. So we went up for lunch today and after Donna and Steve waded out into the water a few meters off shore while all the kids and adults looked on. It was a casual but peaceful ceremony. There was swimming afterwards and more food and conversation into the late afternoon. No photos in hand yet but you can see the locale if you click on the map over there to the left.

Thanks for sharing this “family” moment with the larger family! Blessings to Donna…obedience is always a good thing.

Yes, pity you couldn’t make it. Photos were taken on Steve’s camera. I’ll flick you some when we get them.
Oh, and I saw the ordination email. Bummer that you have to wait. Patience though, it will come.
